The Problem
If the bee population continues to decrease, 1/3 of the food we eat would disappear.

"We are all living in cities now and in apartments without yards, it's tough to make people sympathetic to a cause like this... But there are opportunities to grow in community gardens that provide smaller introductions to gardening and nature and helps educate people on basic concepts that will improve their health as well as the bees."
Mackenzie Sandler
Bee Enthusiast, Environmental Studies Major, member of the Bee Friendly Committee at UO

"One day when I don't live in an apartment, I would love to have a beehive. It is a lot of upkeep and effort though so I would need access to a pretty good green space for it to be healthy."

Our Solutions
Working together, we aim to create a series of solutions that will educate and engage individuals to start saving the bees.
Bee Home Billboard
Native bees are losing their habitat including a safe place to nest. Ground nesting bees are susceptible to tilling, thick layers of mulch, and paved surfaces. Cavity nesting bees are threatened by landscape clearing, mites, and many lawn care practices. The Bee Home Billboard creates a solution to these threats while utilizing unused space near roads and freeways.

Flower Mailer
Making gardening easy! This post-card style mailer is printed on recycled paper impeded with native plant seeds that when planted will directly support the health and wellness of our pollinators. By creating accessible information on the subject and small actions anyone could take to support the bees, it makes it easy for people to understand and implement practices such as these into their lives to make a difference first hand.
